Michael Bay’s Transformers 2 broke box office records by generating $390.4 million worldwide in 5 days. Most of Bay’s films are unprecedented financial successes (Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, The Rock, Bad Boys 1 &2, Transformers, etc) despite being universally panned by film critics.  

“The Island” is the one stand out film from Michael Bay that was well written, with good actors and good acting.  It was even well received by critics. But it did poorly at the box office ($36 million domestically… ouch).
